Oasis's Liam gives away new track free today

New bands need all the fans they can get, but surely that isn’t true for an Oasis alumnus?

Liam Gallagher and his new Beady Eye band are giving away their first single today as a free download, following other artists who have given their music away for free to maximise their audience.

The song, “Bring The Light”, will be available from 2pm UAE time on their website, beadyeyemusic.com on Wednesday, November 10, the band said in a statement.

It is the first track off their debut album, which was recorded over the past summer in London and is due to hit stores in 2011. A statement on the site said the band is currently in the studio working on “their way of looking at the world” with Grammy-winning producer Steve Lillywhite, who has worked with U2, Dave Matthews Band and Evanescence.

After Noel Gallagher quit Oasis citing differences with his brother, Liam formed Beady Eye in London last year with former teammates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.
