Kartik Aryan claims 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2' is clean fun
Four years after bursting on the (Bollywood) scene with a roaring act in adult-comedy ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’, actor Kartik Aryan is raring to go again, and this time with its sequel. Titled ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’, this one too explores how a bunch of lads find their life distorted by their women.
While the trailers showcase innumerable misogynist jokes, Kartik claims it is not an adult comedy, and that the jokes are “situational” and has a high “relatability” factor.
“It’s a funny take on relationships.”
He defends the movie’s slant towards the men, and claims it’s not one-sided, and that women actually loved ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ for the same flavour.
He’s also got a similar act in the new movie, and Kartik’s confident that it will be a rage too.
“I think everyone’s going to relate to it, again. It’s the same concept, but with different characters.”
With just four movies - ‘Akaash Vani’, ‘Kaanchi: The Unbreakable’ and the ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ series – Kartik claims to enjoy a massive following on twitter, and enjoys the interaction with his fans.
Kartik, who hails from a family of doctors, had hoodwinked his folks into believing he was eager to pursue engineering when he wanted to be in the movies. He even shifted from Gwalior to Mumbai and juggled engineering textbooks with movie auditions.
“It is when I got the movie, I broke to the news to my folks. Initially they were shocked, but soon they came around. In fact, my mom and aunt came down to meet the director (Luv Ranjan), and it almost felt like a parent-teacher meeting.”
