Pakistanis angry with Nargis Fakhri's front page newspaper ad
Leading Pakistani Urdu newspaper Jang has published a front page advertisement featuring Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri.
The ad has created a stir over social media where people have condemned it by calling the advertisement 'cheap' and 'absurd'.
A senior investigative journalist raised objections to Jang's front page advertisement featuring the actress.
Ansar Abbasi took to Twitter to say: "My strong protest to top jang group management for this absurd front page ad in today's jang."
One moral police wrote, "@AnsarAAbbasi you are right, her beautiful body curves have nothing to do with 3G phone and its 'cheap price.' I fully agree with you dear."
While another said "@AnsarAAbbasi why newspapers are trying to be like playboy or weekend type of magazine?? These kind o adds look good in magazine not on NP."
Many others took to Twitter to condemn the 'obscenity' of the ad that simply shows Nargis lying down with a phone in her hand while donning a red dress.
However, some users found the protest absurd instead, with one writing "Nargis Fakhri is a beautiful woman. The end."
Another wrote, "Please keep your outrage to the newspaper. Nargis Fakhri is bayqasoor (not guilty)."
Another comment read: "Those offended by Nargis Fakhri’s curves on a paper will be the first to mentally measure a woman up, they see in real."
Aleem Qadeer wrote: "Could have used a talent like @NargisFakhri in a much better way."
Another Twitterer said, "@AnsarAAbbasi Ansar has no issues with projecting TTP, killer of 60K Pakistanis but a girl with a phone boils his blood."
