Sussanne Khan booked by police in cheating case

In a shocking turn of events, entrepreneur and designer Sussanne Khan, ex-wife of actor Hrithik Roshan, has been booked by Panaji police, Goa, in an alleged cheating case (1.87 crore INR).

Real estate firm Emgee Properties is the complainant which has accused Khan of falsely projecting herself as an architect to secure a contract with the company.

Managing partner of Emgee Properties, Mudhit Gupta, in his complaint before the police, said Sussanne had represented herself as an architect and designer by profession according to reports in leading daily Mumbia Mirror.

In September 2013, the company executed a written contract with her 'for architectural and designing services'.

The project concerned is Emgee Properties' Naira Complex being constructed at Siridao in Tiswadi, North Goa.

The complainant alleged that Khan failed to deliver the project within the period stipulated in the contract.

Lawyer representing Emgee Properties, said that as the police were reluctant to file an FIR (First Information Report) in the case, they approached the court seeking a direction to the police.

But, before the court could issue directions, the police filed the FIR. In his complaint, Gupta alleged that relying on the representation made by Khan in the contract, the company had disbursed Rs 1.87 crore (INR) to her.

The complaint stated that when it was found that her work was not up to the expected standards of a professional architect, the company suspected that Khan was not in fact an architect as she had claimed.

When pressed to furnish details about her registration number with the Council of Architecture, Gupta alleged that Khan avoided giving them the number and finally, on inquiring with the council, the company learnt that she was not registered with it.

Police sub-inspector has registered the case of cheating. Despite several attempts to contact Khan, Sussanne remained unavailable for comment.
