World's most expensive guitar plays to the tune of Dh7.3m in Abu Dhabi

The world’s most expensive guitar has landed in Abu Dhabi, playing to the tune of Dh7.34 million in all its diamond-encrusted dazzle.

The Eden of Coronet guitar is currently on display at the Marina Mall in the capital until November 11, with 400-carat diamonds entrusting this musical instrument with its Guinness World Record title of ‘Most Valuable Guitar’.

One does wonder what riffs Slash could strum on a guitar adorned with 11,441 pieces of diamonds, set in 1.6 kilogrammes of 18K white gold.

Organisers say the masterpiece took a team of 68 artisans 700 days to complete.

The guitar itself was created in collaboration with UAE-based Lifestyle Fine Jewelry’s parent company Aaron Shum Jewelry and designer and songwriter Mark Lui using a Gibson Brands guitar.

On its website, Chairman and CEO of Gibson Brands, Henry Juszkiewicz stated: “The masterpiece is a joint effort of three distinct brands.

“The creativity comes from the process of blending ideas and cultures from different industries, which further solidifies Gibson beyond just a guitar brand.”

The guitar, which has already been on display in countries including China, the United States, Germany and Italy, will be on display at Lifestyle Jewelry Marina Mall.

And in case you are wondering, the Coronet is indeed playable. Although, we aren’t sure if it would somehow make its way into the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame just yet.
