Child molester sentenced to death in Saudi
A Saudi court sentenced an Arab expatriate to death after he was convicted of molesting nearly 200 children in the past five years, a local daily said Thursday.
The court in the eastern port of Dammam found the man guilty of the charges after he confessed to some of them, Alwatan said.
The unnamed man, a taxi driver, was arrested after a Saudi father told police that the defendant was molesting his eight-year-old daughter while driving her to school in the morning, the paper said.
“The man was charged with rape and molestation of nearly 200 children and teen agers…he confessed to some of them but said he had done so because he is suffering from psychological problems,” it said.
The court gave the defendant 30 days to appeal the death verdict.
