Child’s eye damaged by fireworks

A seven-year-old Saudi boy lost sight in his left eye after it was hit by fireworks which he was celebrating Eid Al Fitr, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

Doctors at a hospital in the capital Riyadh tried to save the boy’s eye but it was incurable as the fireworks penetrated the pupil and the cornea, ‘Sabq’ said.

“The boy lost sight in the eye in the accident. Doctors said they would replace it with an artificial cornea,” the paper said.
