The first cut-off per centage for commerce undergraduate course in the Delhi University's (DU) Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) reached an unprecedented 100% for non-commerce aspirants.

For the uninitiated, this means, students from humanities and science stream wanting admission in commerce at the esteemed SRCC will need to have 100% marks in their best-of-four subjects in Class 12.

Obviously, no non-commerce student will be admitted in the course, at least in the first list, says The Times of India.

It is not surprising that the cut-off percentage has reached the three-figure mark, given the way cut-off marks have been spiralling in DU over the last few years. It had to happen someday, said the daily.

The first cut-off list for the admission to undergraduate courses in Delhi University were released on Tuesday.

Other colleges have also upped the cut-off percentages. At Miranda House, another well-known college in DU's north campus, the cutoffs for chemistry and physics courses have gone up by 8 per cent. SGTB Khalsa raised its physics course cutoff to 92 per cent this year - a hike of almost 10 per cent from last year, reported the daily.
