3 months jail for assaulting girl in school bus

A 19-year-old Emirati is awarded three months in jail by the Dubai Criminal Court for threatening and physically assaulting a Pakistani girl in school bus.

MAG, student, assaulted FMM, 20, because she did not respond to his requests to speak to him.

FMM told the Prosecution that she had been talking to MAG since the past two months over the mobile phone he gifted her. Later she decided to break up with him as she claimed he always fought and created problems for her.

However, MAG refused to end the relationship and started following her when she left for school but she continued ignoring him.

FMM told the Prosecution: “On December 20, 2009, at 4pm and while I was waiting for the school bus with my sister near our house in Hor Al Anz, MAG came and asked me why I was not answering his calls. And I told him that I did not want to talk to him because he always got me into trouble. To this, he replied: 'I will make you cry and beg me'. Then the school bus arrived and we boarded the bus. He started screaming in the bus asking me not to leave him. He twisted my arm. Then the bus driver intervened and twisted MAG's arm and asked him to step out of the bus. The bus was moving slowly and some motorists even complained."

The bus driver told the school administrator who logged a complaint with the police.

Abdul Kareem Gholoom, 43, driver, testified that upon the request of the accused’s mother he pushed MAG off the school bus. The accused is his brother-in-law.
