4 accidents: Traffic jams across Dubai, Sharjah

A new week brings more traffic chaos to the city streets, with four separate incidences of accidents and broken-down vehicles being reported across Dubai and Sharjah.

Dubai Police have confirmed three separate incidences on its official Twitter account, reporting on a broken-down vehicle on Sheikh Rashid Road after Wafi Mall, heading towards Abu Dhabi, with reports of heavy traffic being caused as a result.

Meanwhile, the authority has also confirmed an accident on the Emirates Road after Maliha Bridge, heading towards Dubai.

Dubai Police further added: “An accident has been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road before Trade Center tunnel towards Abu Dhabi and there is traffic.”

Mrs O’Hara on Twitter has also reported that traffic around Rashidiya is at standstill, with an accident being reported.
If you are planning an alternative route via Al Wasl Road, then brace yourself further.

As per an eye witness account: “Traffic is terrible from Port Rashid signal all the way towards Safa Park. But it gets really bad from the Emirates NBD signal, all the way towards Union Coop and beyond. It took me 45 minutes to cross this 20-minute stretch.”

Sharjah commuters are also reporting that the Ring Road and the highway to Dubai “is a car park,” with no accident being reported as yet.

Meanwhile, earlier this morning a bus on Sheikh Zayed Road near Al Sadaa Bridge in Abu Dhabi, which had broken down has been cleared, as per the capital’s police.
