50,000 people in UAE own luxury cars

At least 50,000 people own luxury cars worth a total of Dh26 billion in the UAE.

According to an expert on the luxury car market, quoted in Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm, UAE has one of highest percentage of luxury cars in the world.

A luxury car in the UAE costs between Dh400,000 to a million dirhams, with two clear segments within the category.

Charles Sawaya, an expert in the automotive market in the UAE, who is also the editor of the magazine ‘Aswak Al Sayra Al Arabia’ said the Arab luxury car market can be divided into two segments.

The first includes Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lexus and Infiniti, and the average price of these cars is Dh300,000.

The second section of luxury cars constitutes Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini, and their prices start at about Dh700,000.

On the other hand Tove Yadlewnd, marketing manager for Bentley, said, “The prices of Bentley start from Dh900,00 for the Continental GT model.”

Waseem Darby the Marketing Manager of Gargash Enterprises the dealers for Mercedes in Dubai said the company recently launched the model S-300 at a starting price of Dh315,000.
