Airblue flights from UAE face 13-hr delays
Airblue, a private Pakistani airline, is facing massive disruption and delays in flight operations following one of its aircraft became non-operational due to mechanical glitches.
People were stranded at airports in Dubai and Lahore for nearly 13 hours on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Aircraft which was supposed to fly on Saturday evening from Dubai to Lahore failed to take-off due to mechanical glitches resulting in people stranding at the two airports for more than 13 hours.
Airblue flights from Lahore to Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Sunday and Monday were also delayed for unknown reasons, according to Lahore airport data.
Passengers complained that there was no airline official available to inform them about when the delayed flights will take off again.
“I flew to Pakistan to celebrate Eid with my family in Lahore but have to rush back to Dubai for an urgent office work.
I bought Airblue ticket because other airlines had no seats. But now I’m cursing myself for buying Airblue ticket following this 13-hour delay,” a passenger told Emirates 24/7.com.
The airline, which has fleet of A320 and A321 aircraft and began operations in 2004, operates a small fleet. It flies mainly to Gulf countries and the United Kingdom.
