An Asian man died on Thursday after he fell from atop Jebel Hafeet Mountain in Al Ain.
According to a report in Al Bayan, Abu Dhabi Police rushed a rescue team along with a helicopter to the site upon receiving the information of the mishap.
The 31-year-old man’s body has been transferred to hospital to determine the exact cause of his death as investigations are on.
Lt Col Rashid Hamarain Durr Makki, Director, Civil Defence, said the body was discovered at the bottom of the mountain amid debris. It took almost four hours to retrieve the body from the place.
He urged the public to exercise caution when atop mountains and high peaks.
Especially during weekends and on days with good weather, residents throng Jebel Hafeet, which is more than 1,200 metres above sea level.
