Beach warning; Traffic woes ahead of Eid break
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has warned from sea and beach activities due to severe disturbance at deep sea.
In a statement NCMS warned beachgoers to be more cautious than usual, in a statement issued just ahead of the Eid Al Adha holidays.
Also, some suggest the upcoming Eid Al Adha weekend break could be the reason why a major traffic jam was reported on Sheikh Zayed Road this afternoon, with people in a desperate bid to get home and possibly get ready to catch their flights.
Some people were so desperate that they even drove along the hard shoulder to get to the exists, when they thought police were not nearby or watching.
Readers writing in, however, said an accident has occurred on the main road from Second Interchange [Al Safa], heading towards Jebel Ali, with traffic crawling on the busy highway.
Police cars have also been spotted by some readers, who have requested people to stop bottlenecking and allow people to reach home safely to plan their weekend breaks.
