Bus fare doubles in Abu Dhabi from today
The Abu Dhabi Department of Transport has doubled city bus fares to Dh2, starting from today, World Transport Day.
Fares to the suburbs will be changed an additional five-fils per kilometre.
Meanwhile, bus transport to areas in the outer city limits, including Baniyas, Shahama and the ever-popular Yas Island will now cost Dh4.
Inter-city bus fares will start at Dh10 with an additional five-fils for each kilometre.
Those looking to travel to Al Ain will now pay Dh25, while Ruwais will be Dh35.
Last month, the capital’s DoT had announced the increase, along with the introduction of the Ojra bus cards in Al Ain and the Western Region.
A Reaya card for senior citizens and people with special needs, plus a Hafelaty card for students was also announced.
