Dubai adds cars to its fleet of luxury VIP taxis

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) has increased the number of VIP taxis, adding 40 new vehicles of various types, to meet the needs of customers and raise the proportion of their satisfaction to 82 per cent this year.

In a media statement on Thursday, Ahmad Mohammad Al Hammadi, Acting CEO of DTC, said: “The increase in the number of vehicles for this service comes in the framework of the DTC’s keenness to develop and improve the services provided to the public in general, and this category of VIPs in particular within its efforts to achieve its strategic vision ‘Pioneers in Passenger Transport Services’.”

He added that with the slogan ‘A new meaning for luxury in transport,’ the objectives of this service are achieved through the provision of quality service to DTC customers at Dubai airports and other vital facilities in the Emirate, where this service is different from regular taxi service due to its lavishness, privacy and luxury, and can be obtained within Dubai airport’s terminals 1 and 3, and outside on the demand from reservation system.

Al Hammadi continued by saying: “This service started with 20 vehicles in June 2012 and increased to 40 taxis on different stages started July 2013, the total number will reach to 60 at the end of this year.”

He stressed that this service can be directly requested from the airport through a specially equipped counter at the exit area for Arrivals in Dubai airports, or through the Reservation and Distribution Centre by calling 04-2080808, or through its presence at some public facilities. The meter for this service starts at Dh50.

VIP taxis feature a special logo with a choice of black colour for vehicles of a particular type that carry white licence plate numbers with a distinctive driver and a kind of luxury, elegance and privacy that serve that segment of customers.

The service is supervised by a specially qualified team which oversees the follow-up of the service indicators and measures the impact of its application on customers and its development.
