Dubai fruit, vegetable market gets revamp

The Fruit and Vegetable Market located in Al Warsan Dubai is to get a major revamp, said Dubai Municipality.

Apart from an expansion of its premises, the revamp will include the addition of new exit and entry gates, parking lots and improved accessibility.

Moreover, new market facilities such as a yards sale will be developed, explained Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality.

The revamp is to improve food safety levels, as customised sidewalks for the purposes of food inspection will be constructed, in addition to places within the market to wash transported vegetables and fruits, and a proper disposal area of damaged items.
