Dubai teacher shifted; warned for hitting kids

Dubai education authorities decided to move a female teacher to another school and warn her of further action after she was found guilty of smacking school girls.

The education authorities took action against the teacher at Sara basic education school in the emirate after investigating reports by the girls’ parents that they have been smacked by the teacher many times in class.

“We have decided to punish this teacher by moving her to another school and serving her with a notice. We also made her write a statement that she would not use such ways with the students again,” Dubai’s education zone director Ahmed Al Mansouri said, quoted by the Arabic language daily 'Emarat Al Youm'.

“We will not accept any type of violence by the teachers against the student in schools in line with the rules set by the ministry of education. We do not want any behavior that will negatively affect the education environment in schools.”
