Four dead, five injured in Dubai road accident
F our people have died and another five have been seriously injured in an accident on Monday evening, Dubai Police has confirmed.
The three-vehicle accident occurred near Academic City, in the direction of Warqa’a roundabout, with Dubai Police citing ‘excessive speed’ and ‘lack of attention’ as the primary cause of the accident.
Dubai Police chief Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina led the investigation, revealing the findings that indicated the driver of one the vehicles was driving at excessive speed and due to lack of attention and negligence, resulted in a sudden deviation towards the right, thus colliding into a second vehicle parked on the hard shoulder of the road.
The severity of the collision resulted in one of the cars veering off to collide with a third vehicle, which resulted in eight people being run over and another injured.
The injured have been taken to Rashid Hospital for treatment.
