Maid escapes cook who bought her for Dh3,000

A Bangladeshi cook has been arrested for buying an Indonesian woman for Dh3,000 and forcing her to work as a prostitute.

MAS, 35, bought TBT, 25, locked her up in a house in Al Hamriya and raped her. Later he fored her into prostitution, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

TBT told Prosecution that she arrived in the UAE on a housemaid's visa and worked for a family in Al Ain. In July she ran away from her sponsor as she claimed she was ill-treated. 

She sought the help of her friend Morni, who works as a housemaid in Abu Dhabi. Morni sent her in a cab to a woman in Dubai. "She will give you work", TBT recalled Morni as saying.

But on her arrival in Dubai, the woman [Monica] told TBT that her friend had sold her for Dh4,000 and she would have to work as a prostitute. Monica took TBT's mobile phone and locked her up in a room in Al Hamriya. Two days later, Monica told her that she was selling her to a Bangladeshi man for Dh4,000.  He took her to a hotel and forced her to entertain his clients.
 
After two months the Bangladeshi took her to a house in Al Muteena, where he confided that he had paid Dh3,000 to buy her. After three days he once again took her to another hotel, where she stayed for a week. She told the Prosecution that MAS would visit every evening to collect the money she made through the day.

Finally on July 15, a drunken Filipino client left the door open and TBT managed to escape. She went directly to Muraqqabat Police Station and filed a complaint.

Police found her passport from the accused's house.
