More rain likely for Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah

After heavy rain hit parts of Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai on Saturday evening, the weather experts predict more rainfall on Sunday evening.

Speaking to Emirates24|7, a spokesperson from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said, “There is chance of rain in parts of the northern and eastern regions of the UAE this evening.”

He added that the sea will be rough and cautioned beachgoers against heading out.

“Accelerated winds could blow dust and sand, leading to poor visibility,” he added, tipping motorists to be cautious on the road.

“The rain clouds will weaken tomorrow (Monday) and chances of more rainfall are slim,” the spokesman said.

He added that the sea will be rough in the morning, and will become moderate towards the evening on Monday.

“There will be no big change in temperature,” with the interior regions recording a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 37 degrees Celsius.

“The wind will be moderate to active during the day on Monday,” he said.

The NCMS official said this change in weather indicates the transition from summer to winter.
