NYE street parties across Dubai
While the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai are at the centre of the New Year Eve celebrations, the party will continue across the city, with Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and Business Bay hosting its own street festivities.
Master developer Dubai Properties (DP) has confirmed that JBR will mark the New Year with a massive retro clock that will be 3D mapped on Rimal Sector, counting down the seconds to backdrop of synchronised music.
Meanwhile, Business Bay will entertain visitors and children with live magic and comedy performances, arts and crafts, face painting, music and much more at Bay Avenue.
While most of the restaurants will be open to the celebrations, dedicated chill out seating areas will also be set up with beanbags to accommodate the whole family.
Mohammed Bin Essa, Executive Director Retail and Commercial Properties, Dubai Properties said, “Dubai Properties offer world-class entertainment and cultural experiences for Dubai’s residents and visitors, which contribute to enhancing Dubai’s image as a leading global tourist and leisure destination.
“New Year’s Eve at JBR and Business Bay will be no exception, and we anticipate thousands of Dubai’s residents and visitors to celebrate the birth of 2016 with us there.”
Dubai Tourism has announced a schedule for its dazzling fireworks that will take us into the first 30 minutes of the New Year with a string of choreographed displays across the emirate, with JBR as its showstopper.
At the stroke of midnight, the Downtown Dubai New Year’s Eve Gala will have clearly defined themed-acts, each highlighting an inspiring facet of the emirate, stated Emaar, with the crowning glory being the visual-masterpiece of the Burj Khalifa fireworks and light displays.
All of this will be visible from Business Bay.
At sharp 12.09am, turns your eyes towards Jumeirah as the Burj Al Arab will light up with its own spectacle of lights, marking the New Year amidst fanfare and melodrama, to the backdrop of the moonlit Arabian Gulf.
And the showstopper for the night will be marked at the JBR, where, at the stroke of 12.16am, another string of fireworks will light up new Dubai while The Palm Island glistens in the background.
