Ras Al Khaimah family hurt in roof collapse

An Asian couple and their child were hurt when the roof of their house in Ras Al Khaimah collapsed on them on Sunday afternoon.

A 1,000-gallon water tank, which was on top of the collapsed roof, also fell inside the house, reported 'Khaleej Times'.

According to sources, the 33-year-old husband along with his wife, 29, and three-year-old daughter were resting when part of the roof of their bedroom fell over them at about 4.10pm.

The man sustained injuries on both his hands and head while his wife has a sore back. Their child suffered head and feet injuries, too.

The family was rushed to Saqr Hospital after rescuers and ambulances from the Civil Defence Department managed to save the trio from inside the rubble.

They have been discharged after receiving treatment and are stable.
