Red Crescent gets 14 cartons of unused medicine
Dubai Municipality handed over 14 cartons of unused medicines to the UAE Red Crescent chapter in Dubai on Sunday [May 4, 2014].
The medicines were collected from their staff through a unique initiative organised by their voluntary group Tatawwu team end-April
The collection drive was aimed at supporting humanitarian organisations and to instill a sense of voluntary work among its staff.
Mohammed Abdulla Al-Zarooni, Director, Dubai Chapter of Red Crescent, stressed the need to continue such initiatives and wider its reach to benefit society better.
He added that the medicines will be distributed among the patients registered in Red Crescent medical centre in Sharjah.
Mona Mohammed Malik, who heads the Tatawwu team, informed that more than 200 employees took part in the initiative.
