Traveller’s diamond ring frisked away at airport
A Ugandan worker at Dubai airport was so attracted by a diamond ring worn by a passenger that he stole it, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
First Policeman Abdulwahid Jabbar testified that on September 5, he received a complaint from RS, a passenger in Terminal 3, about his missing diamond ring.
“I rushed to the inspection gate and retrieved the CCTV records. We found out that EK, the airport employee, was the one who took the diamond ring while the passenger was undergoing a security check. When confronted with the CCTV records, EK confessed and showed us where he had hidden the ring,” he testified.
The court will reconvene on December 6.
