Worker pours boiling oil on colleague after 'AC rift'

An Asian worker used boiling oil to deform the face of his colleague after an air conditioning rift, telling him to get the heat he likes.

The two had shared one room at a construction site in Abu Dhabi before they began quarrelling on whether the AC should remain on all the time.

In the end, the foreman intervened and decided to transfer the one who likes “coolness” to another room, Al Khaleej daily said.

“The one who was transferred felt that he was offended and his colleague had won…so he decided to revenge,” the paper said.

“A few days later, as his ex-roommate was going out of the bathroom, he chased him with a boiling oil pan and splashed the oil on his face, yelling at him ‘if you like the heat. You can have it.”

Al Khaleej said the assailant is standing trial after a medical report showed the left side of the victim’s face and neck was badly deformed.
 

Saudi pours hot oil on 3 sisters over iftar

A Saudi man poured boiling oil on his three sisters, inflicting medium to serious wounds on them, after they refused to prepare iftar (Ramadan evening meal) for him.

The 22-year-old man has just returned home in the eastern province of Qateef but found no food for the meal to break his fasting.

“They refused to prepare iftar for him on the grounds his wife does not help them…he boiled oil and splashed it on them,” Al Riyadh daily said.

It said two sisters suffered from medium burns while the third has been admitted to the intensive care unit for serious injuries. The paper did not specify their age.
