World’s most expensive Dh65m abaya unveiled in Dubai
Debbie Wingham attracted worldwide media coverage and was the talk of Hollywood, with the launch of the world’s most expensive black diamond dress and subsequent World Tour.
This year is set to be even more ground breaking.
Debbie has been busy creating a new range for UAE and she has chosen her favourite city Dubai to launch the collection along with her latest master piece the world’s most expensive Red Diamond Abaya.
This master piece was born out of Debbie’s love and affinity with Dubai and her plans to make Dubai her second home.
The world’s most expensive red diamond abaya is valued at a staggering £11.7 million (Dh64.8 million), making it notably the most expensive garment in the world.
Centre stage of the garment sits the world’s most expensive and rarest diamond. One in every one hundred million diamonds is a natural red colour, making it the rarest diamond in the world.
The World’s Most expensive red diamond Abaya has inspired a whole collection of beautiful modern Abaya’s that are respectful of the culture that Debbie herself admires, but brings her signature flair and breathes new modern elements and couture techniques into the traditional dress.
This bejewelled master piece was launched today, within Raffles Hotel in the Penthouse and between March 20 and March 25, she will be holding a consultation suite where clients can come by appointment for a private viewing and consultation with Debbie.
There are a total of 2,000 stones in the Abaya, which includes 50 2-carat flawless white diamonds, 50 2-carat flawless black diamonds, the beautiful Red diamond and 1899 pointer diamonds. All the diamonds are set in Platinum.
The red diamond we have used is a natural SL2 clarity and has a value of 7.4 million dollars, the stone has been independently appraised by Antwerp.
Red diamonds are found on average every 50 years, but generally too small to speak of.
The Abaya will also feature black diamonds, Debbie’s signature stone, along with white diamonds and the rare red diamond will be the star of the show.
The Abaya boasts over 200,000 stitches all of which are hand stitched in 14-carat white gold thread, the other details found on the embellishment include an intricate layering detail and delicate beading detail with a raised flower effect all created by hand.
