Mohamed bin Zayed attends lecture

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces attended this evening at his Ramadan Majlis a lecture delivered by Dr. Jane Goodall, founder of Roots & Shoots, a youth-led community action and learning programme of the Jane Goodall Institute.

Present were  Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, Sheikhs, ministers, FNC members, senior officials and diplomats.

In her lecture, Dr. Goodall highlighted the importance of environment protection, wildlife endangered species conservation and addressing climate change.

She lauded the Mohamed bin Zayed Wildlife Fund and said the programme launched by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for the conservation of Arabian Oryx in Sir Bani Yas sanctuary was a source of pride.

She said it was necessary to address causes of climate change, including greenhouse and carbon emissions, as well as chemical fertilizers.

"We are to blame for the pollution caused by irresponsible industrial practices which impact habitat, water, wildlife and other parts of the ecosystem," she added.
