Mohammed visits Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, today visited the Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition (DGAE), organised by the Dubai Government Excellence Programme and is held under the theme: "Local Governments, Global Achievements".
Sheikh Mohammed started his tour with a visit to the stand of the Ministry of Defence and the UAE Armed Forces. He launched the Nation Guardian's card on the web and congratulated its holders from the armed forces on receiving the card which provides several government and social facilities.
The officials at the stand presented the 'Golden Nation Guardians Card' to Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, who said he was honoured to be among the holders of the card.
Sheikh Mohammed also stopped at the stand of the Ministry of Interior and was briefed by Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the new e-gate implemented in different points of entry, especially the airports. The new system allows passengers to process their departure without the need to stop at the passport control counters.
Sheikh Mohammed applauded the steps taken by the interior ministry to improve services provided to the citizens, residents and visitors alike.
Mohammed meets Georgian prime minister
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, this morning received Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia, and his accompanying delegation at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid welcomed his guest, and the two sides discussed a number of topics related to promoting bilateral relations between the UAE and Georgia and their two friendly peoples, in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.
The Georgian Prime Minister expressed the desire of his country's leadership and people to build cultural, tourism and investment links between his country and the UAE in various fields for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed stressed that the UAE welcomes all nations and peoples, and all those who arrive on its territory such as tourists, businessmen, investors, companies, and intellectuals, in an effort to build relationships between Emirati people and other peoples of the world, spread happiness and achieve common interests away from discrimination based on race, religion or geography.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and a number of other officials.
