Mohammed visits Sikkah Art Fair
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited on Sunday Sikkah Art Fair, at Al Bastakiya Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and a number of senior officials.
More than 120 paintings of over 65 local and resident artists depicting the way of life in the UAE and the Emirati national heritage are showcased.
Sheikh Mohammed encouraged the initiative by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, which helped find young talent and supported them.
The art fair, that will conclude on Monday, has provided a platform for Emirati and local artists to showcase and promote their art work.
Approves organisational structure of National Statistics Centre
Sheikh Mohammed has also issued a decree approving the organisational structure of the National Statistics Centre.
The organisational structure included the terms of reference and functions of the centre and its organisational units in addition to some general provisions aimed to strengthen role of the centre to meet the requirements of the development process in the state through the establishment and management of statistical system in accordance with international standards in all areas of statistical work.
According to the decree, a Board of Directors will supervise the work of the centre and shall prepare the general policy of the centre's work and oversee it. In addition a Director General assisted by three executives in the field of statistical sectors, executive affairs and support services, will run its affairs.
The decree is effective from the date of issuance and publishing in the official gazette and any provision contrary to or contravenes the provisions of this law shall be repealed.
