Love match: Wozniacki ‘dating’ McIlroy

Tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki has entered a new game of doubles with golfing star Rory McIlroy.

Just days after the sportsman ended his relationship with his childhood sweetheart, he has been spotted with the blonde Danish player, according to The Daily Mail.

This is the second blow for Holly Sweeney, who was dumped by Rory last Christmas, before he went grovelling back for another try.

Holly, his girlfriend of six years, has now moved out of his home and is said to be on holiday in Dubai.

But sparks flew when the world's No1 seed in women’s tennis met the US Open champion at a boxing match earlier this month.

Caroline and Rory, 22, fell for each other after they were seated together to watch David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko in Germany on July 2.

The pair were clearly infatuated with one another from the start, as they began publicly flirting on Twitter.

When Rory's management confirmed his 'amicable' split from Holly last week, he embarked on a new romance on the final day of the British Open.

The night before she tweeted him to wish him luck in the tournament.

He responded with birthday wishes on July 11, joking: 'You’re getting old.'

She suggested he could buy her a legal drink in the US now she was 21.

But while the Sunday Mirror reports Rory has set his sights on new flame Caroline, he said he made 'the biggest mistake' of his life when he ended things with Holly in December.

The former couple featured in a fly-on-the-wall BBC Northern Ireland documentary called Rory's Major Breakthrough.

He admitted he was often 'arrogant' on the course and walked with a  'swagger', but said Holly kept him grounded.
