No burial, no cremation, it's now liquefaction
No more burial or cremation after dying, the new technique is dissolving or rather liquefaction.
Liquefaction is a non-toxic alternative to cremation by dissolving the body in a "body liquefaction unit",Yahoo! reported.
A funeral home in Florida has introduced this new machine. Reportedly the system works by submerging the body in a solution of heated water and potassium hydroxide. Body tissue gets dissolved and the machine also allows for the complete separation of dental amalgam for safe disposal.
The Florida legislature has already legalised this method and 7 US states got the legal go-ahead. It is expected to be used for the first time in a few weeks.
Many people have reportedly signed up for the process and a number of bodies remain cold storage as prior to their deaths, they agreed to undergo the process.
It was not the first time the technology is being used for disposing human bodies.
A similar machine was developed by Aquamation Industries which was used in Australia last year and another company used it in Ohio early this year.
