Filipina nurse ends life in Saudi bathroom

A Filipina nurse in Saudi Arabia committed a suicide by hanging herself in the bathroom of her accommodation next to the hospital where she had worked.

Colleagues going to the bathroom in the housing complex in the southern province of Asir found the girl hanging by the window on Sunday noon and informed hospital authorities who called the police.

Newspapers did not identify the nurse but said preliminary forensic tests showed she had committed a suicide and that no criminal act was behind the death.

“Investigation is still under way…the body will then be sent to the morgue before it is flown back home,” health department spokesman Saeed Al Naqeer said.
