RAK Airways goes to Dhaka, Chittagong

From December 15 RAK Airways will offer three flights a week each to Dhaka and Chittagong.

RAK Airways CEO Omar Jahameh said: "With our new routes to Bangladesh, RAK Airways is delivering on its mandate to provide travellers with a value offering to a range of exciting destinations."

Jahameh explained the destinations had been strategically chosen. "With flights to the nation's capital, Dhaka, the centre of economy and commerce as well as to the coastal, tourist hot-spot, Chittagong, RAK Airways passengers can take advantage of the latent opportunities for trade and tourism that exist between the UAE and Bangladesh," Jahameh concluded.

With the set up of a permanent trade and display centre in the UAE, Bangladesh has shifted its focus from manpower exports and is now looking to the UAE as a full-fledged trading partner. Dhaka is renowned for its historical architecture and is also known as the 'City of Mosques'. Chittagong, Bangladesh's second largest city, is a vibrant sea port and an attractive tourist destination that boasts rainforests and lush, sandy beaches.

Included in the price of each RAK Airways flight to Bangladesh is a baggage allowance of 40kg per passenger as well as the normal hand baggage allowance and free shuttle service between the neighbouring emirates for each flight.

Flights to Dhaka will be on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Return flights from Dhaka will be on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
