Child stuck to wall with adhesive tape

A Saudi man used adhesive tapes to stick a little boy to the wall as he sat with friends laughing.

He then used his mobile phone to film the act and publish it online, not realising it could trigger police action against him.

The picture, published in many Saudi newspapers, triggered a police manhunt for the man, believed to be a relative of the child.

Arar Arabic language daily said the little boy appeared to be writhing with pain while his relatives sat laughing without any consideration to the child’s suffering.

The paper published the picture showing only the boy as he was stuck by many adhesive tapes to a wall without mentioning where in Saudi Arabia it took place.

“What these people did amounts to a serious and flagrant violation of the child’s rights and feelings,” it said, quoting Maatouk Al Shareef, a member of the National Commission for Human Rights in Saudi Arabia.

“This behavior will adversely affect the child’s character and give rise to child violence. We appeal for all those who know the man in the picture to contact the Commission and identify him so the authorities will track him down.”
