Man says doctors forgot pipe in his belly

A Saudi man is accusing doctors of forgetting a medical pipe inside his belly after undergoing a surgery at a government hospital in the Gulf kingdom.

Salim Al Harthi said he went back to the hospital after he felt severe pains a few months after the operation in the southern town of Bisha.

“An X-Ray showed there is a pipe inside my abdomen…I underwent another operation to have the pipe extracted. It was nearly 40cm long,” he told ‘Okaz’ daily.

Harthi called on authorities to investigate his case and take measures against the responsible doctors.
