Summer in Dubai: Fun activities for kids without breaking the bank

With the school break on, it’s challenging for every parent to find fun activities for their children. While Dubai has a lot to offer in terms of theme parks and play-areas, signing up for all or some of them could prove costly.

So, it’s crucial parents find ways to dodge the big price, and find deals that are easy on their pockets.

We decided to step in to do our bit, and scout around for deals that won’t break your bank or dilute the fun.

Read on to find out how you can get free access to Wild Wadi, or get 50 per cent off on KidZania tickets, or pay a visit to Modhesh for free.

Kidzania is running the “early-risers discount” offer that allows adults and children to get 50 per cent discount on their tickets. For this, the booking should be done online, and the visit should be planned before 4pm. The offer is valid from Sundays to Wednesdays and not on public holidays, a spokesperson told Emirates 24|7.

The offer will be valid on July 3-5 but not 6 as it will be Eid holiday. The fine-print also adds that the offer isn’t valid on the “same day of booking”.

As per this deal, kids (aged between 4 and 16 years) tickets will be Dh70, and adults will be Dh48.

At Wild Wadi waterpark, you get free access if you do your bit for charity. "Donate 3 items of clothing every Monday between 3pm - 6pm during Ramadan and receive free entry to Wild Wadi," reads a note on their official Facebook page.

"All donated items are given to the Beit Al Kheir Society," it says, adding that every donation will get you a voucher for entry for the same day.

At Ski Dubai, students are rewarded in the best way possible. "Show us your student ID every Monday, and get 3 hours of slope access for just Dh100. Enjoy your ‪#‎StudentNight," reads their Facebook promo.

That's not all, during the holy month of Ramadan, you can "get your ‪#‎RamadanPass at Ski Dubai and enjoy a special Iftar at St. Moritz Café, with Snow Park and Slope access, plus a free Snow Bullet ride for Dh300."

If these options aren’t enough, you could also try the Modhesh World. Kids stepping into Modhesh World, the home of their favourite friend, the cuddly mascot Modhesh, will instantly feel welcome, excited and energised at the wide array of games, contests, rides, shows, adventure-oriented activities, and much more that will keep them engaged in useful activities and entertained all summer long.

During Ramadan, entry is free. But after it’s Dh20, and free for kids under 3. Doors open from 10am to midnight on weekdays and 10am to 1am during the weekends (Thursday and Friday).

If a drive up to Abu Dhabi's iconic Ferrari World is something you would do, then do check out the Ramadan free-view offer. "On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm to midnight during Ramadan, we’re giving you the chance to enter the Park for free!" reads their announcement on their official webpage.

It adds that once in, you could pay per ride of your choice, or pick our exclusive deals that clubs a few hot favourites.
