Weekend movies: What to watch and what not to

Another weekend, another line-up of fun movies to keep us entertained. Not many big names, but some interesting movies nevertheless.

There’s Rian Johnson’s riveting, futuristic gun-drama ‘Looper’ that sends a hitman back in time, only to be pitched against himself. This mind-blowing action thriller has won rave reviews from international critics, making this a must-watch on our weekend movie-watch.

The hit horror franchise makes a fourth instalment with ‘Paranormal Activity4’, and if the other three are anything to go by, this one wouldn’t throw any surprises on the night prowl.

Stephen Rybojad’s ‘Special Forces’ is another spine-tingling tale that explores how a French journalist is captured by the notorious Taliban regime. There’s even a surprise for Bollywood movie buffs, with the French actor of ‘English Vinglish’ making an appearance.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña team up for the gritty ‘End of Watch’, where they get cornered by a notorious bunch of Mexican bullies.

For the faint-hearted, there’s enough mush thrown in, with ‘Take This Waltz’ and Bollywood’s ‘Student of the year’.
