Ill Saudi man gifted 'shroud' by 2 friends

An ill Saudi man got a shock when two close friends visited him in the hospital and gifted him a shroud, a sheet used in Islam to wrap the dead in the grave.

Ajel newspaper said the two brought the present to their friend who is bed-ridden at hospital in the capital Riyadh, adding that the act has triggered anger among viewers who saw the present on social networks.

“The gift sparked fury and criticism of the two men for choosing such a present to their ill friend instead of flowers,” the paper said.

It said the gift was wrapped and it carried the name “shroud for the happy.”
