Little girl survives 'spin' in washing machine

A five-year-old narrowly escaped death after she was trapped in a washing machine at a laundry in Pasadena, US.

The girl spun at high speed for several minutes inside the machine until she was spotted by a passerby.

"She was tumbling pretty fast in there," Pasadena police spokesman.

"One person walked by and said they saw something flopping around in there. They thought it was just a dress or something because it was moving pretty fast," Vance Mitchell told Houston TV station KHOU.

A few moments earlier, a woman had tried to use the machine and informed the manager that it was not working properly. She received a refund and moved on to another machine.

Police officials were unsure about how the girl managed to get trapped inside in the first place.

The girl has suffered extensive injuries but is expected to survive and is currently recovering at a hospital in Texas, according to media reports.
