Man dies after girlfriend ties scarf around mouth

A man died in Russia after his girlfriend tied a scarf around his mouth to stop him from threatening partygoers with knife, according to police.

Authorities told the media that that the dead man was found dressed up in party clothes. He had allegedly threatened two other party revellers at his home with a knife.

The man's hands and feet were tied with a rope, while his partner had tied the scarf around his mouth to stop him from screaming.
 
They left him outside in the cold to 'cool' down.
 
However, after the girlfriend had seen all the partygoers out, she went back to get her boyfriend and found him dead.

Detectives are investigating the cause of the man's death.
