Man dumping lame dog caught on camera

A man has been captured on video abandoning a lame dog by the side of the road and driving away as it limped after him, a poignant scene that turned the animal into an overnight media star.

Security camera footage shot last week outside a defence engineering company in the English resort town of Weymouth shows an unidentified man stepping out of his blue hatchback and dumping the dog in the woods.

The distressed mutt tries to chase after the car as it drives off, but soon gives up.

BMT Defense Services’ marketing manager Johanna Probert says an employee witnessed the incident and took the dog to a local vet.

The dog’s story - and picture - was published across Britain’s press on Monday. She has not yet been adopted.
