Arsenal revive interest in wonderkid Goetze

Arsenal are keen to revive their interest in talented German attacking midfielder Mario Gotze when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Arsene Wenger failed in his attempts to sign the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund star during the summer.

But the Bundesliga club could have a change of heart with their Champions League campaign faltering.

They are in Arsenal’s group and the point they gained in the 1-1 draw with Wenger’s men in Germany is the only reward for their efforts.

They have lost to Olympique Marseille and Greek outfit Olympiacos, whom they play at home on Tuesday.

Wenger would like to sign Götze before the summer and Borussia’s European demise could signal his arrival at Arsenal, generating £17.5 million for the Germans, according to the 'Daily Mirror'.
