Al Futtaim Panatech edge Gyan Steel

Al Futtaim Panatech rode on solid batting performances from Shahid Farooq and Abbas Ali Khan to beat Gyan Steel by seven runs in the second Al Dhaid Ramadan T20 tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, for the Conmix Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.
Farooq and Ali made 35 each as Al Futtaim Panatech, batting first, were all out for 153 in the last ball of their innings. Farooq hit two fours and three sixes in his 19-ball innings while Ali took 24 balls for his 35 which included four fours and one six.
Mubashir bowled well for Gyan Steel, claiming three for nine while Harris snared two for 22.
Gyan Steel, in reply, batted with the determination, but just fell short of the target. Haroon Rashid (48 off 35 with five fours) and Mubashir (40 off 26 with one four and two sixes) kept their team’s hopes alive with some fine batting, but others failed to rise to the occasion.
In another match, Imran Khan claimed three wickets while Waseem cracked a brilliant unbeaten half-century to steer Rufi Real Estate to a convincing 10-wicket victory over SCC Academy.
Imran’s his three wickets cost just 14 runs and Rohan Mustafa two for 10 as SCC Academy were restricted to 102 for eight. Only Yaser (25 off 26 balls) and Hassan (22 off 24 balls) offered some resistance to a charged-up Rufi Real Estate attack.
Rufi Real Estate, in reply, achieved the modest victory target in just seven overs with Waseem leading the batting charge. The ace batsman made 59 not out off 22 balls with nine fours and three sixes. He was well assisted by Rohan Mustafa who chipped in with 38 off 20 balls which included four fours and two sixes.
