Babar sets up Singh Diesel win in UAQ's Musthaq Premier League
A five-wicket haul from Salman Babar ensured Singh Diesel routed Gazal Generators by 90 runs in the inaugural Musthaq Premier League night tournament.
This is Umm Al Quwain Cricket Association’s first night tournament held under the supervision of the Emirates Cricket Board and played under the auspices of the Ajman Cricket Council and Domestic Cricket Development Committee.
In the other matches, Hologram Players, Chargers CC and Unicon Realestate all recorded easy wins.
Needing a massive 227 to win, Al Gazal suffered early losses with top three batsmen failing to reach double digit.
Babar kept the pressure as he picked up five wickets in his four overs giving away only 15 runs.
Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, Singh Diesel openers Abdul Wahid and Babar provided a fine start.
Wahid scored a fluent 53.
Zeeshan Akmal slammed 48 from 16 deliveries to ensure Singh Diesel amassed 226 for seven in 20 overs.
