Cybersecurity Council warns of security vulnerability in Google Chrome and advises users to update
The Cybersecurity Council of the Government of the United Arab Emirates has revealed that it has detected an urgent security vulnerability in the Google Chrome browser. The council confirmed that this vulnerability has already been exploited by hackers, which can lead to application crashes or the arbitrary execution of code.
The Cybersecurity Council advised users to update their browsers to ensure complete protection. Google recently released the 117.0.5938.132 version update for Google Chrome to fix the critical security vulnerability CVE-5217-2023 in the browser.
The vulnerability allows hackers to exploit the VP8 video codec to install spyware or execute remote code.
