Digital version of a country disappearing in the Pacific Ocean

The authorities of the Pacific island nation of Tuvalu have announced that the country will continue to exist even if its islands disappear under the ocean, according to the newspaper "RNZN". The country is gradually sinking and disappearing underwater due to rising sea levels, and the country's people have announced their desire to create a digital version of the country.

Former Foreign Minister Simon Kofe said that such a clause has appeared in the country's constitution, or rather that Tuvalu will last forever, even though it is possible to lose its physical land. Simon Kofe described Tuvalu as the first country in the world to identify itself in this way. He added that this formulation of the issue reflects the culture, history, and spirit of the people. The former minister said: "It is part of our identity, and we want it to continue."

It is worth noting that Tuvalu is located on the coral islands of Polynesia in the Pacific Ocean, and it is home to 12,000 people. The four islands that make up the country cover an area of 25 square kilometers. Although Tuvalu is one of the smallest countries in the world, it is one of the poorest countries, as its resources are limited to subsistence agriculture, fishing, and very limited sales of coconut milk, and it cannot do without international aid provided by Western countries in the form of grants.
