Apple Inc. has announced the official UAE availability and pricing of its new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus smartphones.
In a media statement, the Cupertino-based firm said the new devices will be available in more than 40 additional countries including the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, where the new smartphones will be available starting October 10, while Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain and Taiwan will receive their official new iPhones a day earlier on October 9.
The timing seems interesting, with the region’s biggest technology shopping festival – the Gitex Shopper in Dubai – ending on October 10, the day the new iPhones will be official available in the UAE.
However, several retailers will be taking pre-orders for the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus at the Gitex Shopper, with delivery starting October 10.

The iPhone 6s will be available in the UAE for a suggested retail price of Dh2,599 for the 16GB model, Dh2,999 for the 64GB model and Dh3,399 for the 128GB model.
iPhone 6s Plus will be available for a suggested retail price of Dh2,999 for the 16GB model, Dh3,399 for the 64GB model and Dh3,799 for the 128GB model.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are available in gold, silver, space grey and the new rose gold metallic finishes.
As Emirates 24|7 reported last week, Apple’s iPhone 6s is already available in the grey market in the UAE for under Dh3,000.
Several online retailers in the UAE began accepting pre-orders for the new iPhones even before their global availability, with delivery dates set for within a few of days of their availability in the first wave of 12 countries.

Online retailer Souq.com had listed the iPhone 6s for Dh2,999, with delivery starting September 30, 2015. The retailer has since dropped the prices to as low as Dh2,699, a Dh100 mark-up on Apple’s suggested retail price.
iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will roll out worldwide to more than 40 additional countries and territories beginning October 9, including Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Maldives, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan.
On October 10, countries include Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in India, Malaysia and Turkey on Friday, October 16 and in over 130 countries by the end of the year, Apple said.
