Saif Zone to add 3 million sqm space

The Sharjah International Airport Free Zone (Saif Zone) is undergoing the third phase of expansion with 127 new warehouses of various sizes  under construction, which strictly comply with UAE Civil Defence requirements.

Speaking to ‘Emirates24|7’,  Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director, Saif Zone said the free zone is undertaking the third phase of expansion to add 3 million square meter and 127 new warehouses, offices and other facilities to accommodate new demand from overseas companies.

 “We are developing 127 new warehouses of different sizes and their designs and construction are strictly in adherence with UAE Civil Defence codes and all the latest fire-fighting preparedness,” he said, on the sidelines of inaugurating the manufacturing plant of Bash P International, a subsidiary of Marine Safety and Services Company, which deals with fire-fighting and industrial safety products and services.

“Bash P International is the latest company to start a manufacturing facility in the Sharjah Airport Free Zone. We have inquiries from more Indian and international companies, which are keen to start some unique and first in the Middle East projects. Our ongoing expansion will add 6 million square meters of industrial space and enhance the infrastructure and other facilities available in the zone. The Road Transport Authority is making many new road projects to ease transportation and logistics from  Saif Zone,” he added.

Out of 6,800 companies from 142 countries currently operating in Saif Zone, 60 per cent are from India.

Bash-P Internationalopens in Saif Zone

Bash-P International - the first dedicated lifting webbing factory in the Middle East and North Africa region was opened in Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) on Wednesday (6th May 2015). Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Saif Zone and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) officially opened the UK-based Bash-P International- FZE, in the presence of Mohamed Basheer, President, Safety Services Group, senior representatives of the company and dignitaries. “We welcome Bash-P International’s Nylon Webbing Manufacturing Facility to Saif Zone and it is encouraging to see more international companies flocking to Saif Zone, which is surely a sign that we are progressing in the right direction,” Al Mazrouei said after the opening. The $20 million facility in Saif Zone will manufacture nylon/ polyester webbing material ranging from 25 mm to 300 mm wide to meet the group’s in-house and market demands.
