Géant, the fifth largest hypermarket chain in the world, has just opened a new hypermarket in Dubai.

The fourth of its kind in UAE, the new 10,000sqm Géant Hypermarket will service communities including Mirdif, Silicon Oasis, International City, Al Warqa, Nad Al Hammar, Al Rashidiya, Mirdif and Silicon Oasis.

Speaking about the new store launch in Dragon Mart 2, Mark Anthony Lack, Chief Operating Officer, Géant Middle East, said: "This is a key growth market for Géant and we have invested heavily to ensure that we are present in the right locations, with the right people at the helm, trained in the correct way to deal with our large customer base and given opportunities themselves for growth and development."

The hypermarket in Dragon Mart 2 will feature a wide selection of groceries with over 65,000 products on offer including daily deliveries of fresh fruit and vegetables from local and international producers.

Géant operates four formats; the hypermarket, supermarket, neighbourhood and city store and opened its first GCC store in Bahrain in 2001 with the first Géant Hypermarket opening in Dubai in 2005.

For the past decade the retailer has increased its market share with steady growth year on year, increasing its number of stores across the region.

The retail brand will continue its expansion in the GCC with plans well underway to open a hypermarket in Fujairah and in Wadi Al Alsail Mall in Bahrain in the coming months.
